Banned Books Week

Freedom to ReadFor the last 30 years, Banned Book Week has drawn attention to the freedom to read by highlighting books challenged or censored due to their content. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion concerning a book’s content, preventing others to read that book infringes on everyone’s freedom to read. During this year’s Banned Books Week (September 30 – October 6) read a banned book.

Wonder what books have been banned? Julie of the Wolves, My Brother Sam is Dead, Catcher in the Rye, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Captain Underpants, Harry Potter (series), To Kill a Mockingbird, Brave New World, Animal Farm, 1984, Lord of the Flies, Face on the Milk Carton, Carrie, Christine, Snow Falling on Cedars, Kite Runner, A Time to Kill, Junie B.
