We celebrate Teen Read Week™ (October 14-20, 2012) with special events and programs aimed at encouraging area teens to read for the fun of it. Thousands of libraries, schools and bookstores across the country will hold similar events centered on this year’s theme, It Came from the Library, which dares teens to read for the fun of it!
Some of Peru’s events are Zombie Feud and Friday’s DJ party.
Teen Read Week is a time to celebrate reading for fun and encourage teens to take advantage of reading in all its forms —books and magazines, e-books, audiobooks and more — and become regular library users. It is the national adolescent literacy initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association.
