The library offers a variety of services for adults. Our most popular service is the circulating collection. We also provide 12 public access computers, WiFi, magazines, June 2013, newspapers and electronic databases. Patrons have access to interlibrary loan for items not owned by the Peru Public Library.
The library’s reading area has a scenic view of nature in Peru. Deer, squirrels and numerous birds entertain library patrons taking a break from reading.
eBooks are are a popular service, added August 31, 2011, allowing Peru patrons to download electronic books and audio books to eReaders such as Nook, Kindle, iPad and Sony or your smartphone. In July 2013 we added downloadable eMagazines and downloadable music.
The library has information on the Talking Book and Brailles Libraries program for those with impaired eyesight or other handicaps preventing the easy reading of a traditional book. Talking books are delivered to participant’s homes via the U.S. Postal Service. Information on the program or an application, is available online or from the library.
