Accelerated Reader Update

All juvenile novels and chapter books now have the Accelerated Reader levels and points added to a label on each book. We are working to put the AR level and points on our story/picture books and our nonfiction collection.

Upcoming events in the Children’s area:

Preschool Story Time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and last until 11:00am.  Story time is designed for children who able to sit quietly.  Every week a new theme is chosen.  Children will enjoy hearing special readings by the librarians as well as joining in the songs and finger plays.  Activites may also include a craft and refreshments. There is no cost to attend story time.   Come see what Miss Lynn and Miss Beth have planned!

Wednesday Afternoon Activities are planned for each Wednesday from 2:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. that school is in session.  Kids can take part in fun craft activities and brick building with legos.  This is a free program. 

Friday Fun Nights continue into 2012. Fun nights are for children in 3rd through 5th grade.  Kids will enjoy board games, card games, brick building with legos,  group games and refreshments.  Parents are welcome to stay, but the adult library is closed.

2012 Friday Fun Nights are January 20th, February 17th, March 16th, and April 20th.  The program begins at 6:oopm and all kids should be picked up by 8:00pm.
